The Aalto Doctoral Programme in Electrical Engineering was established on 1 January 2011 by a decision of the Aalto University’s President (13 December 2010). All doctoral candidates of the School of Electrical Engineering belong to the Doctoral Programme.
The Aalto Doctoral Programme in Electrical Engineering comprises 23 fields of research. The Programme is a joint effort of the Departments of Electronics and Nanoengineering (ELE), Signal Processing and Acoustics (SA), Electrical Engineering and Automation (EEA), and Communications and Networking (TLV), as well as the Metsähovi Radio Observatory and Micronova - the Research Centre for Micro- and Nanotechnology.
The Doctoral Programme is managed by the director of doctoral programme who also develops and coordinates doctoral education in the School of Electrical Engineering. The School also has a Doctoral Programme Committee that is chaired by the director of doctoral programme.
