Student Financial Aid

State student financial aid is available for registered degree students only. The right of non-Finnish citizens to receive student financial aid from the State is decided on a case-by-case basis. A full description of the right to receive student financial aid is available on the Social Insurance Institution of Finland (KELA) website at Questions on how and when to apply for Student financial aid is handled by Aalto University Student Financial Aid Services.

Aalto Center for Entrepreneurship (ACE)

Are you interested in entrepreneurship or do you in need of help in commercializing your invention? ACE coordinates activities related to technology transfer and commercialization, intellectual property management, startup companies and the teaching and research of growth entrepreneurship at Aalto University.

Sports Services

Aalto University and the University of Helsinki have a joint sports organisation, UniSport. UniSport is exercise and much more, at six campuses: the city centre campus, Kumpula, Meilahti, Viikki, Otaniemi, and Töölö.

Library Services

Aalto University Library is a research library open to all visitors with vast and versatile collections of electronic and printed resources across the disciplines of the Aalto University. Aalto University Library offers modern services both online and at libraries on three campuses: Arabia (design and art), Otaniemi (technology) and Töölö (economics).

IT Services

IT supports studies through a number of student IT services:

  • basic services such as customer support, e-mail, wireless LAN connections and printing
  • applications for managing study information, and for supporting studies and collaboration
  • well-equipped computer classrooms with up-to-date software on every campus

Study and career psychologist services

The Psychology Service at Aalto University offers counselling and support for learning, motivation, self-regulation, study skills, coping with stress and career choice. Career coaching is psychological counselling, which gives careers support and employability support.

Career Services

Aalto University Career Services helps students in finding relevant employment by acting as a link between students and employers, by enhancing students' job hunting skills and by providing them with information and statistics on placements. The Aalto University Career Services can be found in all 3 campuses - Arabia, Otaniemi and Töölö. Benefits and rights

Doctoral students may choose to join the student union. The statutory and automatic membership of the student union is discontinued after completing a Master’s degree. Here you can find services, benefits and rights of doctoral student as a member of: AYY.
