This site is intended for current Macadamia students, offering study and practical information in a concise format.


The Master's Programme in Machine learning and Data mining (Macadamia) gives the students fundamental expertise in some of the hottest topics in Computer Science, IT, and Computational Science now and in the future.

The programme is given by the Department of Information and Computer Science at Aalto University School of Science, Finland, known for its pioneering research and education in this field. The Master of Science degree obtained in this programme during a span of two years enables the graduates to enter the IT industry in Finland or world-wide.

The department offers summer jobs as research assistants and Master's thesis projects with salary for the best students. The degree also has seamless continuation to doctoral studies, for example the Helsinki Doctoral Education Network in Information and Communication Technology, for those interested in deeper research and development in machine learning and data mining.
