From BSc degree to MSc degree

The students of Aalto School of Business, who have been admitted to study BSc degree, have the right to continue to the MSc degree programmes. However, they will be granted a study right to a MSc degree programme only after completing the BSc degree and graduating.

When applying for the bachelor’s diploma, the student informs the Learning Services of the Master’s programme the student would like to continue in. Please notice that there are certain preconditions to some of the MSc Programmes (see the list below).

A =Accounting as a Minor in the BSc degree with a GPA 3,00 or higher.
ECON =  Courses in microeconomics, macroeconomics, mathematical methods, Capstone-course or Econometrics course in the BSc degree or equivalent studies (MSc degree programme evaluates).
ENT =Bachelor's degree with a GPA 3,00 or higher.
F =Introduction to Finance, Corporate Finance, Investment Management, Financial Markets and Institutions in the BSc degree with a GPA 4,20 or higher.
MIB =

Management as a minor in the BSc degree (at leats 24 credits) or equivalent studies (MSc degree programme evaluates) or Bachelors degree with a GPA 3,00 or higher and a motivation letter.

C =

Motivation letter.

M =

At least 18 credits of intermediate studies in Marketing in the BSc degree with a GPA of 3,5 or higher.

STR =

Bachelor's degree with a GPA of 4,0 or higher

After the student has been accepted to the MSc programme, the student will get the right to study for the Master’s degree and a tutor from the faculty. When the student has received a BSc diploma (graduation) and the right to study in a MSc Programme (decision from the Learning Services), he/she must draw up a personal study plan and have discussion with the teacher tutor, and have the personal study plan of the MSc degree approved.

Starting Master’s level studies

Students who have not been granted a study right to a MSc degree programme but have completed 150 credits or more for the Bachelor´s degree, can start completing courses for their MSc minor studies (24 cr) and intermediate level elective courses (12 cr). Students can begin taking MSc level courses when they have earned 150 credits or more for the Bachelor’s degree, including all of the common core studies and the obligatory method studies.
