Degree Programme in Industrial Engineering and Management

[Suomeksi] [På svenska]

Industrial Engineering and Management (IEM) combines engineering with economic and human fundamentals in order to create value and efficiency. Unique in its multidisciplinary and integrative essence, IEM studies the foundations of business and engineering processes and the engineering mindset from the point of view of management, technology, economy and the human potential.

IEM professionalism is an integrated skill set consisting of mathematical, technological, economic and social competences that focuses on proactive problem solving in value creating processes. In essence, the ethos of IEM studies emphasizes a systemic, solution oriented engineering mindset.

In addition to a major in one of the sub-disciplines of industrial engineering and management (industrial management, strategic management, work psychology and leadership), graduates from the degree programme obtain good knowledge of one engineering discipline. The engineering expertise is founded on Bachelor's studies and refined at the Master's level.
