Including practical training in Master's degree
Students have been able to include practical training in their degrees by submitting a report. Maximun of practical training credits have been 5 cr for Bachelor's degree and 5 cr for Master's degree, total amount being 10 cr.
The practice has changed so that Master's students are able obtain practical training credits via the course ELEC-E7990 Professional training 2 – 5 cr.
However, if you have completed practical training before Jan 1, 2019 you can still apply for credits by submitting a report. The report and an application for credits on practical training must be submitted by 31 Jan, 2019 at the latest. Enrollment for the academic year 2018-2019
Enrollment for the next academic year is now open - please enrol as attending or non-attending student by 14 September! Enrollment is primary made via WebOodi. In case you are liable paying tuition fees, enrolling as an attending student is not possible until the tuition fee payment has been received by the university.
Studies at other Aalto Schools? The general application procedure for minors at Aalto University is now open!
Are you planing to study outside your own field, at School of Business or School or Arts, Design and Architecture, for example during the next academic year? The application period for studies that require an application is open until May 31.
Language studies outside Aalto University
Degree students of Aalto Universty have an opportunity to take language studies offered by universities of applied sciences - Haaga-Helia, Laurea and Metropolia. The language courses are free of charge for students of Aalto, and the selection includes languages not offered by Aalto.

4 day summer camp in Germany?
EIT InnoEnergy Master's School organizes Transition Business Camp on energy business creation from 25 to 29 July at Karlsruhe, Germany. Application deadline is 10 June. Aalto University is InnoEnergy's partner university and thus the summer camp is free of charge for those students at Aalto that are selected.

Who should be rewarded for the excellent teaching/guiding/supervising?
We want to identify and give recognition to good deeds and reward the doers. Nominate a person or group by 15 June!
Maybe there's a person or a group of people that has supported and inspired your learning especially well and deserves to be rewarded? We are looking for a teacher, tutor, teaching assistant, person from administration - anyone who should be awarded!
Changes in the numbers of the lecture halls in Maarintie 8 (TUAS-building)
The new lecture hall numbers are already in use in Asio. The numbers of the big lecture halls (AS1, AS2, TU1 and TU2) have not changed. The signposts at the building will be changed in autumn. The re-numbering of the halls is due to the curriculum planning. See a map of the new hall names.

13 June Graduation ceremony
Into site and the section Graduation. is a public event open for all. Those who will be graduating, will receive a separate invitation and may bring guests. For further information, please see your programme's
13 June Graduation Party
Aalto University is hosting a graduation celebration for students that completed a bachelor's or master's degree during the academic year 2017-2018. The party is right after the school's graduation ceremony. For more information, please see the party's webpage and an Into news about graduation pins that will be given for all the graduates. Registration is open until 31 May at 16.

Periodic letter V
Master's theses and final projects no longer need to be submitted in hardbound copies
Until now, students have been required to submit two hardbound copies of their Master's theses to the Students Services at the time of applying for the approval of their theses. This practice, however, is now discontinued and no hardbound copies need to be submitted any longer. In other words, as you apply for the approval of your thesis in eAge system, digital copy of your thesis attached to the online application form is sufficient.
This also applies to the exchange students' final projects. You only have to submit the electronic version of the project in eAge, and no hardbound copies need to be submitted.
New course Engineering for Humans begins in teaching period V
Are you interested in human factors, ergonomics, errors, and design? If yes, enroll in the course ELEC-D7010 Engineering for Humans that starts in teaching period V. Registration is ongoing on Weboodi. The course is optional.

Are your compulsory language studies still waiting to be completed? Here's the last chance in teaching period V before the summer! The course LC-1114 Communicating Technology (o + w) has places still available:
H11 - from 11 April to 13 June, Wednesdays from 9 am to 12.15. Registration is ongoing on Weboodi until 9 April.

Study at Aalto University Open University in the summer 2018
Courses at Aalto University Open University for the summer 2018 have been published. Especially a large selection of Finnish language courses are available in different levels. Registration starts on 10 April at 12 pm. Aalto University degree students pay the same fee as everyone else: €15/credit at the most.

Aalto University expects its members of the community to act responsibly and treat others with respect. Any inappropriate treatment, harassment or bullying is prohibited.
Inappropriate treatment is behaviour that violates commonly understood principles of good practice, or is inappropriate or disturbing. This includes causing offence by actions, word or attitude. Inappropriate treatment may also take the form of sexual harassment, which may be physical or verbal.
