School of Engineering holds several information events for students during orientation week and later in September. The aim of these events is to support studies as they begin or continue.
Orientation week for new students is held 3–7 September 2018 at breakfast from 8.30 am and noon at 9.00 with a welcome event held by the School of Engineering in hall U2 (Otakaari 1). The orientation course introduces students to studying and provides helpful information for all phases of studies.
Incoming first-year students of the School of Engineering were given a summer assignment. Its aim is to orientate students toward studies and current and future challenges engineers face. A welcome event for second-year bachelor’s students is held on Tuesday 11 September 2018 from 16.00 to 18.00 in hall D, Otakaari 1. Topics of the event include second-year studies, exchange studies, minor subjects and study guidance.
A welcome event for third-year bachelor’s students is held on Wednesday 12 September from 16.00 to 18.00 in hall K213a, Otakaari 4. Topics of the event include third-year studies, master’s programmes and applying for them as well as study guidance.
An Information Event for students attending practical training courses Työympäristöharjoittelu ENG-A2020/ENG-A2021 and/or Syventävä harjoittelu ENG-A3030/ENG-A3031 will be held 29 September 2018 at 16.15 (R008, lecture hall 326, Otakaari 4). The event will give all students useful tips and guidelines for writing reports, as well as information on completing training courses and utilizing and crystallizing the experience of the practice as a reflective report and course performance.
