A new tool for study planning has been implemented at Aalto University this autumn. The tool is used by neraly all new bachelor’s and master’s degree students. The tool is an integral part of the new student information system Sisu, which will replace the current system Weboodi by 2020. In the 2017-2018 academic year, the tool was used by the new students of 9 bachelor’s or master’s degree programmes from all six Aalto schools.

Weboodi will be replaced by Sisu since it is not up to modern standards. For instance, WebOodi is not designed for mobile devices, a shortcoming that will be corrected in the new system Sisu.

The implementation process has been phased to introduce the new system in a controlled way and allow its continuous development. The development is the responsibility of Funidata Oy, while the implementation at Aalto University is the responsibility of the ICT for Learning team (sisu[at]aalto.fi). In addition to Aalto University, Sisu will be implemented at four other Finnish universities: the University of Helsinki, the University of Jyväskylä, Lappeenranta University of Technology and the University of Tampere.
