July’s graduation date could be beneficial for you. For example, if you have taken a Finnish student loan and you complete your degree within the target time, you may be eligible for a student loan compensation or a student loan tax deduction. More information on the KELA website: https://www.kela.fi/web/en/student-loan-compensation and https://www.kela.fi/web/en/student-loan-tax-deduction. If you are a BSc student, graduating in July instead of September might help you to get a place on some Master’s courses as some of them can only take a limited number of participants, and the students with a completed BSc degree could be prioritized. Employers also value completed degrees and graduating could for example have an effect on the pay rate.
