The study programme in economics is structured to ensure internationally comparable qualifications and a lifelong human capital. The programme is particularly strong in the areas of Applied Microeconomics and International Economics (including Development Economics). A long-term cooperative arrangement between the Department of Economics at the School of Business, the Discipline of Economics at the University of Helsinki and Department of Economics at Hanken School of Economics allows the students to choose from a wide selection of advanced specialisation courses.

The graduates are prominent in a wide variety of careers that require broad economic expertise and strong analytical skills, such as economists, analysts, or consultants in firms, financial sector, research institutes, public administration, and international organizations.

Here you can find the degree requirements of the programme, and the necessary information about completing the degree and its contents.

These pages are mainly aimed at the students of the programme. If you are thinking about applying to the programme please see How to apply.
