Dear student at the end of your studies,
Good news! Dean has decided on an additional graduation on 31 July 2019.
If you have completed all courses and you are able to complete and submit your Bachelor’s or Master's thesis and maturity test during the on-going semester, you can graduate 31 July 2019.
Deadlines for additional graduation:
• Submitting the electronic diploma application form on eAge no later than 31 July 2019 at 11:59 pm
• Submitting the final version of your thesis and maturity test on MyCourses no later than 31 July 2019 at 11:59pm
On Wednesday 31 July 2019 only courses that are not registered in Oodi, can be Bachelor’s or Master's thesis, thesis seminar and maturity test as well as courses that you have already completed (i.e. exchange semester) and are waiting for grading and registration. Please remember to check on time that your personal study plan (PSP) is up to date and approved. Diploma is made based on approved PSP. If your PSP is not up to date and approved, you cannot graduate on 31 July 2019.
If you have any questions regarding studies, master's thesis or i.e. PSP, please contact the planning officer of your master's programme.

More information about completing your Master's thesis here: https://into.aalto.fi/display/enaccounting/Completing+your+master%27s+thesis or on your own master's programme’s INTO-pages. Please note that Master’s thesis and maturity test can be submitted to July 2019 box on MyCourses, and it will be open from 1 June to 31 July 2019.

More information about graduation for MSc students: https://into.aalto.fi/display/enaccounting/Graduation or on your master's programme’s INTO-pages.
Official graduation date on your diploma is 31 July 2019. However, diplomas will not be handed out to students on 31 July 2019. Diploma can be picked up from the Learning Services in September 2019 when thesis and other missing grades are graded and registered to Oodi. When your diploma is ready you will be contacted by Learning Services.
Please remember to check that your PSP is up to date on time. The summer holiday season may delay the approval on PSP and answering to inquiries.
July’s graduation date could be beneficial for you. For example, if you have taken a Finnish student loan and you complete your degree within the target time, you may be eligible for a student loan compensation or a student loan tax deduction. More information on the KELA website: https://www.kela.fi/web/en/student-loan-compensation and https://www.kela.fi/web/en/student-loan-tax-deduction. If you are a BSc student, graduating in July instead of September might help you to get a place on some Master’s courses as some of them can only take a limited number of participants, and the students with a completed BSc degree could be prioritized. Employers also value completed degrees and graduating could for example have an effect on the pay rate.
For the Business School the students graduating within the target time are very important because the funding model for universities bases the funding for teaching on the number of students who graduate within the target time.
